In 2003, Village Christian School was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the United States Department of Education. The primary criteria for this distinction is for a school to have standardized test scores in the top 10% of the nation in both reading and math.

Established in 1949, Village Christian School is a private, non-denominational, Christian educational institution consisting of an elementary, middle and high school, on a shared beautiful, secluded 30-acre campus in Sun Valley, California.

JK and Kindergarten Applicants

  • JK and Kinder applicants are assessed for developmental readiness as part of the admissions process. An interview via SKYPE is also required. 

1st-5th Grade Applicants

  • A copy of student’s passport
  • Recommendation letters from two teachers
  • Copy of previous two years of grades
  • Copy of English level testing if available
  • Applicants for 1st-5th grade are assessed in math and reading at their grade level as part of the admissions process. An interview via SKYPE is also required.

Middle and High School Applicants

  • A copy of student’s passport
  • Recommendation letters from two teachers
  • Copy of previous two years of grades
  • Copy of English level testing if available
  • Middle and High school applicants are required to interview via SKYPE.

*Students are required to wear uniforms at Village Christian School.

The VCS high school academic program, “Concentrations,” is based on the Harvard University model and allows students to focus on one of six academic areas of interest to gain valuable knowledge and targeted experience. The six concentrations are:

Village Christian School has a specific “International Student Club” dedicated to promoting a greater sense of connection with people from other cultures.
