San Joaquin Memorial High School (SJMHS) is a private Catholic high school located in Fresno, California – a short 3-hour drive from San Francisco and 3.5-hour drive from Los Angeles.

With a population of 600 students, SJMHS offers college preparatory education for students in grades 9, 10, 11 and 12. Both international and domestic students receive the same instruction together in all classes.

SJMHS international students have the unique opportunity to gain acceptance to California State University-Fresno (Fresno State) with the SJMHS to Fresno State Direct Pathway Program. Only available for SJMHS graduates, international students may matriculate to Fresno State by fulfilling the following requirements:

1. Receive an SJMHS Diploma

2. Graduate with a cumulative 3.0 GPA or equivalent

3. English Language Requirement:

  • Students who have completed 3 or more years at SJMHS fulfill the English Language Requirement (no additional test score necessary)

Eligibility for Honors/AP courses is determined by standardized test scores, cumulative grade point average, and grades earned in pre-requisite courses.

Advanced Placement: There are currently seventeen AP courses offered at SJM; students are permitted to enroll in up to four AP courses per semester. Courses are a year in length unless otherwise noted.
